FOLK LEGEND ODETTA DIES
Odetta, the folk singer with the powerful voice who moved audiences
and influenced fellow musicians for a half-century, has died of
heart disease. She was 77.
WORLD MUSIC STAR DEAD
Renowned South African singer Miriam Makeba, who was known worldwide
for her hit song "Pata Pata," died of a heart attack after
a concert in southern Italy. She was 76.
